Endocrine Society: 2007 Genentech Clinical Fellows Travel Grants
Through the support of an unrestricted educational grant from Genentech, The Endocrine Society offers travel grants to U.S. pediatric and adult clinical endocrinology fellows to support their travel to ENDO ‘07, the Society's annual meeting in Toronto, Canada, 2-5 June 2007.

Endocrine Society: 2007 Endocrine Scholars Award
The Endocrine Society created these awards in 2005 to recognize research trainees for outstanding achievements in basic endocrine research. Trainees must be currently enrolled as a graduate student in a Ph.D. granting program or as a 1st through 3rd year postdoctoral fellow in a basic-science post-doctoral fellowship program.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research
The Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation supports highly qualified individuals to undertake broad studies of America's most challenging policy issues in health and health care. Grants of up to $335,000 are awarded to investigators from a variety of disciplines for innovative research projects that have national policy relevance.

Faran Laboratories announces funding for prostate cancer research. New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research: Five-Year Named Chair for Senior and Junior Faculty Grant
The NJCSCR will fund grants totaling $1,000,000 for senior faculty and $600,000 for junior faculty for a Five-Year Named Chair for Senior and Junior Faculty grant to recruit highly qualified researchers to conduct spinal cord research in New Jersey.

The NJCSCR will fund research activities that hold promise of developing effective interventions and cures for paralysis and other consequences of spinal cord injury and disease.

New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research: One-Time Start-Up Costs Grant
The NJCSCR will fund start-up costs to facilitate the establishment of new spinal cord injury research laboratories. The primary focus of the research must hold promise of developing effective interventions and cures for paralysis and other consequences of spinal cord injury and disease. These awards may be used for the renovation of space, support of research personnel (maximum of one year salary for technical support staff; after the first year, no personnel costs are permitted), and the purchase of equipment directly related to the research.

New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research: Postdoctoral & Graduate Student Fellowship Grant The NJCSCR will fund Postdoctoral and Graduate Student Fellowship grants to attract and retain in New Jersey's qualifying academic research institutions talented young scientists who wish to pursue careers in spinal cord regeneration and repair research.

The Broad Foundation: Broad Medical Research Program
The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Foundation created the Broad Medical Research Program (BMRP) for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Grants in 2001. The BMRP will provide rapid funding for up to 2 years for basic or clinical IBD research projects that: (a) are innovative; (b) are in the early stages of exploration; (c) will improve diagnosis, therapy, or prevention of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis in the near future; and (d) will lead to funding by more traditional granting agencies. Preference is given to proposals with strong potential of clinical applicability in the foreseeable future. Basic and clinical investigators and scientists not currently working in IBD and interdisciplinary teams are encouraged to apply.

Undergraduate Programs

National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network: NNIN REU Program National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network will host a Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (NNIN REU) from June through August. Engineering and science students with broad interests across disciplines focusing on nanotechnology are eligible to apply if they are not graduating before the end of the program.

Arkansas State University RISE: Research Internships in Science of the Environment (RISE)
RISE is a National Science Foundation-funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates site providing summer research experiences in Environmental Science to undergraduate science majors from across the United States. Specifically, RISE is designed to meet the education needs of under-represented minority students with the primary goal of our program being to increase the diversity of the science workforce. From recruitment, to mentoring, to follow-up, RISE is designed to provide students who do not have access to research opportunities a research experience that will give them the tools of success they need to stay in the sciences and pursue advanced degrees in their chosen fields.
